Alex van Houwelingen Illustration - Cartoons
Cartoons could be a valuable part of journalism (eg. political or satirical cartoons). They are in essence humorous and they tell a story. Cartoons' ability
to communicate complex messages via very few frames and images make them a popular tool to use when communicating across lingual and cultural borders. Because the cartoonist
positions himself in the role of jester, his work can often be more direct, hard and satirical than the written word. Despite all this, one of the most important properties of a cartoon
is it's ability to put a smile on your face!
